Do mothballs or ammonia help repel snakes?



We fear a lot of wildlife, starting from rats, raccoons, beavers, skunks and the most infamous snake. Most individuals are known to have Ophidiophobia, this is the abnormal fear of snakes. It is also known as Herpetophobia, it is generally the fear of reptiles and amphibians. Of course, who would want to come near into an animal that you know might kill you in a couple of seconds. Having this said, we would like to come up with things that might repel to snakes, as long as we do not encounter them in anywhere, especially in our own homes.

Venomous Snakes
While we may think that all snakes are venomous, we are wrong. Not most of the snake that we will be encountering are venomous. Although there are unfailing ways to identify if a snake is indeed venomous, there are also exceptions.

There are also a few things to consider if you would like to confirm if a snake is venomous or not. However, there are also exceptions to the. The bottom line of it is to leave snakes alone. There are a few types of snakes that are provennon- venomous such as boas, bull snakes, king snakes and pythons.

Mothballs and ammonia
Mothballs are generally used as repellents to cloths moths. They are stored in the middle of garments placed in our drawers or cabinets. Itis mainly consist of naphthalene, whereas, ammonia is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. Both of these chemicals are dangerous especially if a human inhaled it deeply.

Are mothballs and ammonia effective?
The infallible answer is NO. These chemicals should never be used as repellents because it will never work out. It will only cause harm to you and your family. Granting the fact that snakes do have a strong sense of smell, unfortunately, it will never be considered as a poison to them. Another downside of using this is that it will only cause hazard to our environment especially if it was putto solid ground. Do mothballs or ammonia help repel snakes?
