Rochester Wildlife Tip: Animals in the Eaves
Eaves are edgy part of the roof which over hang the walls and slightly projected to the outside as compare to the rest of building. Main purpose to make eaves is to throw the water away from wall instead of sliding directly from roof which can damage the walls exterior.
Poorly constructed eaves can become habitat of Rochester wildlife like
• Bats
• Rats
• Squirrels
• Wild bees
Bats
Bats can find living place under eaves easily because of their sleeping position. Bats used to roost upside and in eaves they find this place by lining themes eve under it.
1. You can easily get rid of bad from eaves by spraying water from hose. But this action will solve the problem temporarily.
2. Batter way to get rid of Rochester bats by using a sealant in the spaces between roof and wall or installing aluminum foil or mirrors inside the eaves to annoy bats.
Rats
Roof rats can easily approach to the eaves. You can hear the thumping sound of rats jump from the roof into eaves. But mostly rat do not build their nest in eaves.
