Manchester Wildlife Tip: How to remove a Skunk in basement, attic or anywhere in the house?
Skunks often do not enter houses or yards but any source of food may attract them to your yard or house. Manchester skunks are good burrowers, they can damage your yard or basement in a few days.

Skunk Trappers:
One of the best and most useful way to remove skunk is by using skunk trappers. They are usually baited with marshmallows or fish slice. Make sure to camouflage the trap because Manchester skunks are pretty intelligent. Place the trappers near their large burrow holes or dens. Skunks are nocturnal animals so set the trap in the morning.

Look for their burrows:
If you haven't seen the skunk and only expected its presence by extreme burrowing activity or noises then first look for the entry sites or burrows. Confirm is presence and then adopt further measures.

Close its den:
Skunks are nocturnal animals that usually go in search of food at night. If a Manchester skunk has established under your house then examine all the burrows and seal them. Make sure you seal all small burrows properly, leaving the one main burrow open. Spread flour near main burrow for tracks which indicate that skunk has moved out of its den in search of food. When the den is empty close the main burrow. Reopen the burrow next day to allow remaining skunks to move out.

Poison the skunk:
Mostly poisoning the skunk to death is not right but if it is only option to get rid of them then use it. Fumigate the skunk burrow with some poisonous gas. It will kill the skunk by suffocating it. Two types of lethal body traps can be used which are box traps and leghold traps. Both traps kill the skunks.
