Grand Rapids Wildlife Tip: How much does squirrel removal cost?
Thumping in the attic… A bump running along the ceiling… The culprit? Grand Rapids quirrels. What do we do? Get rid of them! But, how much does it cost?Pest removal
Squirrel removal's price starts at an initial fee of between $100 and $250, depending on the company. Prices can get as high as $1000, but this hardly happens. On average, your squirrel removal, done by professionals, could cost around $600.

Doing it ourselves
If we are up to the challenge, we can get rid of the Grand Rapids squirrels ourselves. We will be needing a few things for this, divided into two categories.

Humane
In other words, we don't want to harm them. We will need the following:
• Steel cage traps• Squirrel repellent
Cage traps can be bought relatively cheaply from ebay, starting at around $20 each. However, we will need a few of them, so with a modest amount of five traps we are looking at $100. The bait for squirrels could be made at home, mixing some bird seed or peanuts with some peanut butter. Lastly, Grand Rapids squirrel repellent costs $15-$25 for a 16-32oz. bottle.

Brutal
Or, we don't mind taking a few lives in the process. This will include:
• Electronic traps
• Jaw traps
• Poison
The electronic traps are the most humane of these methods, where it kills the squirrel outright with a strong bolt of electricity. These start at $28 on eBay and are reusable. Jaw traps have been used for a long time, and they are as effective as they are brutal. These are sold in sets of six on eBay and the price is $25 for the set. Lastly, any rodenticide can be used, these range in price from $2 up to $50.Be sure to check with local law enforcement before dealing with squirrels using the brutal method.
