Fort Myers Wildlife Tip: What smells repel Snakes?
Telling if a snake is venomous or not, isn't a situation you wouldn't want to be in, - cause it shouldn't be slithering around your home in the first place. So, how can you avoid snakes? By repelling them. Decoys have been used, traps have been used, even ultrasound emitters have been used. But, what about smells, what smells repel Fort Myers snakes?

Cider Vinegar
We use vinegar for cooking and for other house hold uses. But what we don't know is it's effectiveness against snakes. The sour smell of vinegar rapidly spreads into the air when spilled, a smell strong enough to make most people vomit. To use vinegar to repel snakes, simply damp pieces of cloth with vinegar and put the damped pieces in strategic locations with recent snake activities.

Sulfur and Ammonia
These two chemicals are prestigious for there pungent smells in laboratories and around chemical based industries. They both have there separate uses, but collectively, their smell serve as a powerful Fort Myers snake repellent. Inhaling these chemicals together or separately is bad for the human system, therefore a nose guard should be used when using the chemicals. For use, carefully mix the chemicals in the desired locations and keep away. Note: the mixture of Sulfur and Ammonia results to ammonium thiosulfate, in other words flue gas. Flue gas is used in power plants for electrical regulations and other uses. The solution should NOT be used nearby open windows or indoors. Keep away from the reach of human activities, as to not trigger ill reactions, allergies or health issues.

Marigold repellents
A unique repellent only sold in few animal control stores is the Marigold scent repellent. Naturally, the Marigold plant is a great repellent against Fort Myers snakes with its pungent odor that fills the planted surrounding. But in an industrialized distilled containment, Marigold repellents are more effective and mobile to use. Simply spray targeted locations and be guaranteed of a snake free zone.
